Color Confidence Class - Ellijay

Engage in an in depth discussion for choosing colors and fabrics for quilts to get the desired outcome.

The project will create a color wheel made from fabric.

Skills to learn in class
The discussion will be working with colors in blocks. Discussion of value and saturation of color and working various exercises in color combinations. Various techniques in creation of quilts using color tools including.

Supply list

  • Bring 1 yard of solid white or solid black fabric which will be used for the color wheel background.
  • 10- 2 inch squares of 12 different fabrics that you would find on the color wheel. Please try not any bring any solid fabrics but bring fabrics that read solid or tone on tone.
  • Before coming to class, please: prepare the 12 fabrics by applying fusible backing ie. Wonder under or heat and bond. Also cut the fabrics into 2x2 inch squares. These will be shared with everyone in class.
  • Also bring a smart phone if you have it we will use the camera as well as discuss some favorite apps that can be useful in picking out colors for quilts.
