Fabric Postcards Class

This class will focus on creating fabric pieces of art that will be attached to postcards for mailing or framing. Exploring all the creative way to use your machine stitches.

The project will create a fabric postcards.

Half day class

Skills learned in class
• Improve piecing
• Machine specialty stitches

Supply list
• A variety of fabric scraps: you will need lots of choices but not a large pieces of fabrics. Novelty fabrics or leftover parts of blocks are ideal.
• At least 1 yard of paper backed fusible web (Wonder Under or Soft and Fuse
• Sewing Machine with decorative stitches, and basic sewing machine supplies including extra needles
• Variety of threads in fun colors and a variety of weights
• Batting scraps at least 5 x 7
• Rotary Cutter 6 x 12 ruler and small cutting mat
• Scissors, both paper and fabric
• Temporary spray adhesive (505 brand preferred)
• Card Stock, cut to 4 x 6
• Optional:
o Fabric markers or tools for marking on fabrics
o Small lengths of yarn, ribbon, and/or bias tape
o Postcard stamp for back of postcard
o Beads, crystals or sequins
